Unnamed Servant doesn’t deliver what you expect. Whether you are catching them in concert or giving their latest album a spin, you will likely be surprised by what you find.
As a band, US is a collision of personalities and musical tastes that blend and combine for a common goal. Comprised of Gregg on guitar, Robert on bass, Skylar on guitar, and Paul on drums, the resulting sound catches your ear and the message might just change your life.
Gregg, Skylar, Robert and Paul don’t just play in a band together. They are partners in a much bigger cause, their lives are forever joined in the pursuit of educating, liberating and serving people around the world. Having served together in 7 countries, on 5 continents, the guys in US have seen a lot, and what they’ve seen influences what they have to say. The music of US is an overflow of their passions, as well as an avenue to communicate what they have seen to others.
Playing together since 2001, US has developed a sound that is uniquely their own. From Lauren Hill to Nirvana to Sara Groves, these guys love music, and the music they make together reflects that love. They have dubbed their music ‘groove rock’— the marriage of their individual tastes and influences has produced a sound is rooted in rock and roll, yet also draws from the rhythms of r&b and the storytelling of acoustic folk. Adding to the variety, the multiple languages of their friends and family around the world are also found in US’s music.
From songwriting to recording and producing, Unnamed Servant is a self contained effort. Their albums boast incredible energy, yet were recorded on budgets that are strikingly small. For the cost of a couple hours in a standard Music City studio, they create entire full length c.d.’s. While they are undeniably thrifty, US generates exceptional music.
Having played concerts all over the states and around the world, Unnamed Servant tirelessly serves as a voice for action. What action? The action it takes to wake up and live well. The action to take responsibility for your neighbor’s needs. The action to be advocates for the voiceless and servants to the nations. This call to action that unites Gregg, Robert, Skylar, and Paul connects the listener to a greater call, and if you listen, you might just be changed.
