PI TOUR: Dulag Sports Complex, Dulag City

Dulag Sports Complex [Way outside Tacloban City, Leyte] 05/23

1500 + People | 1:45 Hour Set

The number 1 question asked of the band concerning Dulag was, “Why are you going to Dulag?!” Nobody goes to Dulag. It is a forgotten town that is saturated in poverty, violence, illiteracy, and of course lacking music. For US it sounded like the perfect place to put on a rock show! And that we did. As darkness creeped in, the stage lights warmed up, the humidity and heat set in, and over 1500 People gathered at the outdoor ampitheatre located at the center of town. According to locals a professional band has not performed here in decades. As a band we were a little nervous about how our show would be received.

Despite the large crowd it took a couple songs to woo Dulag. Words That Liberate serves as a nice ice breaker with a drum and sing-a-long live version. The show finished up nicely as Gregg picked out a wild distorted version of the Pilipino National Anthem. By the end of the solo the entire crowd sang in unison. Band jumps off stage to a huge show stopping hit and so ended show 3!
