Greg and paul and Rob. your group came to Saint Simons Island for a Fusion Retreat fall 2008. I know you have a heart for missions and I was touched by your stories rescuing your mom, Greg. I was a chaperone there with a local church and many teens. Well , my dad lives in Springfield Tn,( one hour north of Nash.)in sad conditions, because for the last many years he gives his all to mininistering to jails, homeless,etc. In his younger days, he traveled with his church and ministered in Africa with another musical group. His current church is very small and I can’t get a telephone call back yet. I live 600 miles away.
He is in the hospital, after a truly miraculous recovery, is soon going home to a place that needs some serious upkeep.
For example:His steps outside being too steep for him to get in and out safety due to weight loss after cancer, weakness, and lung problems and other such issues. I live 600 miles away and am hoping to find an organization, like un named servant – or maybe your school- to help volunteer and make his home safe for his remaining time before joining Jesus in eternity. He does not want to move and leave his home. Could you please join me in prayer for my daddy and his living situation. I have gotten home health care services for when he returns home-just wish we could get some basic things done first (for example: hole in the floor at front door, steps, etc.) If you don’t feel called in this mission,and know of any other group, please let me know. Or if you need verification of above info to make determination – I will be glad to do that.
I am thinking it could be a spring mission project. Maybe I can get my local church to partner in the effort?
